As a committee we would like to say a huge thank you to Steve Allan as he steps down from the role of Chailey and Newick Colts Chair after a hugely successful six year tenure.
Steve will be greatly missed but his legacy will remain and his vision will continue to shape the future of the club.
Steve took on the role of Chair in July 2018 and since then has taken the club from strength to strength. He has steered the club to achieve his aim of becoming the best club in Sussex.
For the Colts the best doesn’t mean winning leagues, bringing home all the trophies or having multiple teams at each age group. It means a close knit community of families with kids who want to join, want to play and want to stay with us.
Being the best means upholding the club values of respect, sportsmanship, fair play and inclusivity. Helping kids to build friendships, learn new skills, grow their confidence, build their resilience and improve their skills is integral to the existence of Chailey and Newick Colts.
Steve embodies the values that the club stands for and he has led with integrity, diplomacy and tenacity for the past six years.
Steve made the decision to step down from his role as Chair as he genuinely believes in bringing in fresh ideas and energy to keep the spirit of the club alive and moving forward.
And luckily for all of us, he will remain on the club management committee and coach our Little Kickers section (U6s and U7s) on Saturday mornings with Vice Chair, Jem.
The management committee and wider club would like to thank Steve again for everything he has done over the years - for all his hard work, commitment, ideas, and constant support and guidance for the officers of the club, managers, parents and kids alike.
