Thank you football parents!

This is a quick appreciation post to say thanks to all the parents who are committed to getting their kids to football training and matches every week. For giving their kids the gift of grassroots football and all the benefits that playing a team sport brings.

We appreciate you being there on the sidelines week in and week out, whatever the weather - come rain or shine (mostly rain, it seems at the moment) to show your support. For washing the muddy kits and wiping away the tears of disappointment. For staying positive when things aren’t going so well and lifting the kids up when their heads drop.

We thank you for encouraging them to keep going through the tough times and celebrating the good times with them - praising a good pass or a save or a goal. Thank you for helping the kids to deal with defeat, show good sportsmanship, and for modelling fair play and respect to them. 

Without the parents there is no club. We are all the club, in this together … committee, coaches, kids, parents. It’s the wet rainy days like today that sometimes bring this home so we wanted to say thank you 🩷💙 From Chailey and Newick Colts FC.
