The 2023-24 season has officially kicked off! And what a fantastic morning of football it was on a sun-kissed Chailey Common.
All of our age groups apart from one in the mid-Sussex league played at home today which meant a lot of kids playing football at Chailey and the atmosphere was buzzing.
It was lovely to see so many smiling faces - players and parents - out in the sunshine this morning and we had a great crop of results all round as well.
Particularly well done to the U8s team, who played their first ever league match today. It looked like they were having a great time and they certainly scored a lot of goals!
Thank you to everyone who played, coached, refereed, supported, helped out with goals, nets and respect lines, cleaned the clubhouse, and so on. It’s great to see so many people getting involved and giving up their time for the club to make it possible for all these kids to play football.
Let’s hope the sunshine stays with us for a few more weeks and the pitches stay dry so we can continue to enjoy matches with such a great atmosphere at our home ground. Roll on next weekend!
