A huge thank you to Lewes FC for a fantastic weekend of football.
The club's two day tournament saw several Colts teams playing across the age groups. On Saturday the U8s, U9s, U12s and U13s all put in the work in their respective groups and enjoyed an overall awesome day, with high and lows along the way.
On Sunday it was turn of the U11s, who were on fire! They finished second in their group without conceding any goals to make it through to the quarter-finals of the Cup.
After a hard-fought, close match in the quarter-finals vs the renowned Ringmer Rovers the final score was 0-0 meaning it went to penalties.
Sadly the Colts went out in sudden death penalties but they held their heads high and did us proud.
As usual, all the Colts teams displayed the high standards of sportsmanship that we expect from our players and the whole weekend was testament to the principles of fair play and respect amongst the football community in Sussex.
It was wonderful to see rivals on the pitch immediately pick up their friendships off the pitch as local teams supported each other and cheered on their friends.
Thank you to Lewes FC for organising such a great event. We’re looking forward to next year’s tournament already!
