End of Season Awards Night 2025



Another season has come to an end and what a way to celebrate! Friday night saw the whole club come together for our annual awards night at Newick Village Hall … and it was as emotional as ever.


Every player was invited onto the stage to receive a medal for their commitment and hard work throughout the season. Each team manager then awarded three trophies:


  • Manager’s Player of the Year

  • Most Improved Player of the Year

  • Players’ Player of the Year


It is always difficult for the managers to decide which players get the awards as they would like to celebrate all their players' successes and progress in different ways but somehow they manage to make a decision and the chosen players get to lift their trophies on stage to the applause of their parents and families watching.



This year we said congratulations and goodbye to our U16s team, led by manager Martin Johnson, as they have reached the end of the footballing journey with the Colts. There were a few tears but they have been an amazing group of players and we wish them the very best for whatever they go on to do now. Maybe one day we’ll see some of them return to the club as coaches?!


We also bid a heartfelt thank you and farewell to our incredible club secretary, Lindsey Rogers, who has been an unwavering presence at the heart of our club for the past six years. Lindsey has been the backbone of our operations – meticulously managing everything from player registrations to ensuring our FA accreditation is always in place. 


Her dedication, efficiency and tireless commitment behind the scenes have kept us running smoothly season after season. Lindsey’s ability to keep us all organised (and on our toes!) has made a lasting impact, and her absence will certainly be felt throughout the committee. Saying goodbye was emotional, but we are deeply grateful for everything she’s done and wish her all the very best for the future.



Thank you to everyone who came along on Friday night to celebrate the development and successes of all our players. Thank you also to everyone who bought raffle tickets. We are delighted to have raised £1100 for the club - all funds raised go directly towards the costs of pitch hire, kit and equipment.


We hope the winners are enjoying the amazing prizes that were donated - a huge thank you to those individuals and businesses who donated, your support is invaluable and greatly appreciated.


Our teams will now take a break from league matches over the summer although some training will continue, as well as some tournaments and friendly matches that will be arranged. Behind the scenes the club will register players, work on the pitches and continue all the usual admin to get ready to go again next season. Bring it on!
